Introduction:
LED strips are a fantastic way to light up your home and surroundings with versatile and colourful possibilities. When looking for LED strips, you will often come across terms such as 5050 SMD and 3528 SMD. In this blog, we will take you into the world of LED strips and show you the difference between these two types of SMDs. At Lichtendirect, we have chosen the high-quality 5050 SMD for our LED strips, and we will explain why.
What are LED Strip Lights? LED Strip Lights are flexible light strips that are equipped with tiny LED lights. They come in a variety of lengths and colors, making them a versatile and adaptable lighting solution for a variety of applications. From accent lighting in the home to decorative effects at parties, LED Strip Lights offer a magical and energy-efficient way to bring any space to life.
The difference between 5050 SMD and 3528 SMD The difference between these two types of SMD (Surface Mount Device) is in the dimensions of the LED chips placed on the strips.
1. 3528 SMD: Subtle Brightness The 3528 SMD LEDs measure 3.5mm x 2.8mm. These LEDs are generally smaller and more subtle compared to 5050 SMD LEDs. This allows them to provide a more subdued lighting experience. If you are looking for a more discreet and less obtrusive lighting option, 3528 SMD LED strips can be a good choice. They are suitable for situations where you want to create a subtle glow or accent lighting.
2. 5050 SMD: Powerful Brightness The 5050 SMD LEDs are larger at 5.0mm x 5.0mm. This means they have more power and can shine brighter than the 3528 SMD LEDs. If you're looking for powerful and eye-catching lighting effects, 5050 SMD LED strips are the ideal choice. These LEDs are perfect for creating vibrant colours, lighting up larger spaces and making your lighting stand out.
